 Cannabis 2000 Festival:

>> A MIRACLE! <<

The one day free 'Cannabis March & Festival' on May 6th supporting an early end to the prohibition of cannabis started the Festival season for 2000 on a herbal high with a unique event which filled Brockwell Park, London with over 20,000 people.

At the festival two live stages and seven sound systems provided a diverse mix by which to 'dance on the grave of cannabis prohibition' in glorious sunshine.

As well as music from some of the best sound systems & performers in Britain, and important speakers, there were exibits and all manner of stalls, plus about 20,000 people very relaxed people.

There were no arrests and relations with police were excellent. The legally organised event was part of a worldwide cannabis action supporting the end to international cannabis prohibition in over 80 cities.

An organiser said "The fact that this cannabis march & festival can take place in Britain today, with the full cooperation of the authorities says something very positive about our society, which despite all it's failings, has undeniably become more progressive over the last twenty years. We hope this event in London and worldwide on the first Saturday of May each year will contribute to helping people all over the world see that the many uses of cannabis are an asset to humanity, and should not be banned as they are now."

Cannabis does not turn you green.

The event on May 1st 1999, had no commercial financial backing and was the result of the efforts of hundreds of people all over the country.

Next Worldwide action: Sat 5th May 2001.
