Frequently Asked Questions
Question: What's happening with the march?
Answer: The march to 'End the Prohibition of Cannabis' aims to unite all those who seek a new deal for cannabis in the name of the arts and sciences, technology, health and therapy, for recreation and medication, for paper, food, clothing and fuel on a sound ecological basis. We are a new majority. Our March will celebrate this long-revered herb, banned exactly 70 years ago in a Kangaroo Court. It will be cheerful, hopefully musical, emphatically non- violent, and in full accord with the necessary planning agreements with the local authorities who we thank for their courteous and co-operative assistance.
Question: I don't smoke so why should I be interested?
Answer: Think of a friend, a relative or yourself suffering from a medical condition with a known successful cure but being denied the right to it's use because it is illegal. This is is what is happening with cannabis in Britain today. Cannabis is the worlds most valuable medical and industrial raw material. It is possibly the most widely researched herb on the planet. 'International Commissions' on Cannabis from 1894 ('Indian Hemp Drugs Commission1894') have consistently failed to find any harmful effects from recreational use in moderation while reporting countless medical uses.
Question: Don't we need the cannabis laws to save people from drugs?
Answer: The current cannabis laws are putting people in all levels of society in far more danger than if it was legally available in a regulated market. The Prohibition of cannabis simply does not work; it costs the tax payers millions, encourages the spread of addictive drugs and brings the law into disrepute.
